Cartriges reuse and recovery?
I have printer HP all-in-one with very high price cartriges.I used refill kit inks ("specific","good quality") for one year (B/W),but now it's out of use.I tryed to clean it with cleaning liquid (from supermarket) and refill but served to nothing.Now I have a new B/W and 2 old cartriges.I use printer very rare.Are there cunning "rules" for use? How can I clean the old cartriges to refill them after?
You best defense against cartridge dryness is a good offense.
Run a print head cleaning ( a utility your printer already has, you will find it in your HP toolbox) Every two weeks. It does you ink, but since you are refilling ink is costing you next to nothing. This prevents the cartridge from drying out an keeps it in good working order.
When using a solvent you are always running the risk of damaging the fragile electronics on the cartridge. You can soak the print head in blue window cleaner (like Windex) for no more than 10 minutes at a time, reinstall the cartridge and running a cleaning. Doing this repeatedly may being back the print quality, however once a cartridge has dried up you will always have problems with it.
